Report on Facebook and it's Products
Facebook uses an array of different methods in other to promote its products. Facebook is known well-wide and is known well as the “oldest and widest-reaching social network around”. Facebook has lots of people globally using their networks. (Jenn Chenn, 17th February 2017). Therefore, as Facebook is a very popular network, they also have to be on top of providing their customer with the most recent trends within their products.
Facebook has shown real progression and development with their products this can be seen throughout the quality of their products. Facebook was first created in 2003 with CEO Mark Zuckerberg, he created Facebook in order for it to be a dating site in his university however, Facebook grew at a fast pace and suddenly lots of people worldwide were using the social network. Therefore, Mark Zuckerberg and his team came together and thought of new ideas and products that can be provided with Facebook. For an example of this, Messenger - an app built-in with Facebook where you are able to engage with your friends. An article from the Financial Times shows Messenger being launched in 2011.
‘Facebook has launched a new instant messaging application for smartphones to compete with similar services such as WhatsApp and BlackBerry Messenger, as the booming market for chat apps threatens mobile operators’ traditional revenues.’ (Tim Bradshaw, August 10th, 2011). This demonstrates how millions of people would use Messenger and are happy and satisfied with the added products. The article that Tim Bradshaw wrote, conveys the growing success of Facebook and staying in the competition with their rivals.
Along with side Facebook messenger, Facebook has other amazing products that their customers enjoy. Their most successful products being Instagram and WhatsApp. Similar to Facebook, lots of people globally use these apps in order to connect with friends and family. Facebook also use their products and have their own page to also connect with their customers. They engage with their audience by doing polls and surveys on their page. Facebook recently did a poll on “how people use Facebook messenger” (Katie Sehl, February 12th 2020, Blog)
More than 81% of respondents message businesses to ask about products or services
Some 75% of respondents message businesses for support
More than 74% of respondents message business to make a purchase
The statistics above demonstrate that most people use Facebook to message businesses and ask about products and services. The poll shows that most people use Facebook for business use. The fact that so many people worldwide use Facebook products as business use, allows the network to stand out to its competitors as Facebook is used for a variety of different reasons such as posting photos, commenting, looking through a news feed, create a live video, send messages to friends or family and plant event. They also have Facebook market that allows people to buy and sell their items. Therefore, this conveys that Facebook’s different products and features are the reason that they stand out as other competitors don’t have these many products on their network. This allows Facebook to reach more customers and be the most successful, long-running social network.
Facebook has an array of different competitors, Snapchat being the most recent, Snapchat attracts the younger generation. However, Facebook and Snapchat still share the same target audience. The two are still quite different when it comes to their products, Messenger is more a texting social network whereas Snapchat is for mainly taking pictures. However, a source from ‘The Guardian” has recently stated that Facebook is collaborating with new ideas for a new app in order to stay on top of their competition. This demonstrates that Facebook is still thinking of new ideas to be the most successful social network worldwide.
Their products have developed a lot over time. This can be seen through their Facebook Messenger feature, it has added different features of the app over time such as changing the colour of the Messenger App. Facebook stated the logo is designed to “mark our continued evolution from a simple way to message your Facebook friends, to a place to hang out with your favourite people, on your favourite apps and devices.” (The Scotsman, Friday 16th Oct 2020, Alex Nelson). Therefore, this demonstrates the relationship Facebook has with their customers as they want to engage closer with their target audience and provide them with the best feature possible for them to stay close with friends and family.
In conclusion, I believe that Facebook is very successful in its products as they are always looking for new ideas to make the product the best it can be. They do this by engaging with their target audience by doing surveys. This provides a healthy relationship between the client and their customers as it allows the client to bring more features and products that they know the customers will enjoy. Furthermore, this is positive to Facebook as the more popular their products are, the more they can increase their advertisement revenue. Therefore, this enables Facebook to have more profits which are good for the business as they can bring out more products and features, allowing the customers to stay satisfied and loyal.

Facebook and Place:
This photograph from Brent Barnhart's blog demonstrates "how to build a Facebook business page".
Facebook website is the business home, it's where customers come to locate their apps and to find their customer service. The website is very important as this how Facebook attracts its customers and build relationships to keep customers satisfied and loyal.

Facebook and People:
Furthermore, I believe this image of the organisational chart best shows the people at Facebook, this is because it demonstrates all the different departments in the large company with CEO Zuckerberg being placed at the top. Facebook has many different departments that have lots of importance to the company, without these departments, the company wouldn't be able to run successfully. Therefore, everyone in this chart has an important role to place within the company.

Facebook and Price:
This graph shows the "cost per click" by country from Facebook and advertisement. It demonstrates the average cost however, some countries are way over average such as Australia and Japan. Facebook gain their money from advertisement, a lot of businesses use Facebook and advertise their business. Therefore, this suggests that Facebook is gaining a lot of its profits from advertisements.

Facebook and promotion
Facebook is a massive company known globally therefore, they have to be careful about their promoting and advertisement. This image demonstrates a Facebook advert on a side of the building. This is a good advertisement as it was placed in New York in a busy environment therefore, lots of people will go pass this building and look at the Facebook ad. The fact that the advert is so big means that it will attract more eyes to look at and want to join Facebook. The more people that look at the promotion means there is more talk about Facebook therefore, Facebook becomes a popular network which also means more people will want to join, always keeping Facebook in the competition.

Facebook and Process
Facebook has lots of procedures and processes in order for the company to run smoothly. The main process is their Customer Service. They have a help centre on their website where customers can get help and talk to live people that work on Facebook. Nick Davies wrote an article on "how to contact a live person on Facebook". This is very beneficial as customers will feel safe and protected that they have the option to talk to people to help answer their questions and queries.

Facebook and Products
FFacebook has many products that they have produced over the years. They have products such as WhatsApp, Oculus, Facebook Messenger etc. As seen before, the more products that Facebook created, the more likes and reviews that they got. This enables the company to have more talk, allowing the company to have a good reputation. Facebook has done well in creating its products as they listen to their customers. They want feedback and criticism therefore, Facebook creates surveys and poll on social media which they engage with their customers and listen to what features they would like. Furthermore, this also shows the relationship between Facebook and its customers as they are engaging and making them feel that they have an important voice in the company.
